The New Zealand government has outlawed greyhound racing - a positive move for animal welfare, but it meant that more than 2,000 greyhounds needed new homes. Not only was this going to be the biggest animal rehoming effort in New Zealand’s history, but there was a common misconception that greyhounds are high energy and hard to live with.

So, we enlisted the help of one of the world’s most famous ex-racing dogs - Santa’s Little Helper from the Simpsons, to help show New Zealand families that these retired racers make the best family pets.
